Open Letter to My Clients: Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am writing this letter because I would like to Thank each and every one of you who (have):

Invited me to be part of your journey in life and for being so understanding over the past year while we navigate the process of psychotherapy in an unconventional manner due to COVID19.

Been so courageous to partake in the psychotherapy process and share with me some of the very challenging concerns you’ve been facing

Allowed me to walk with you through the emotional ups and downs in life, while remaining so resilient all the time.

Constantly inspire me and for always reminding me why I am passionate about Mental Health and the years of education I dedicated to this field.

For being the best teachers, I have ever had. You have all taught me such wonderful life lessons outside of academia.

Brought in so much laughter and joy into our sessions.

Challenging me from time to time and inspiring me to keep learning (always).

Broadening my perspective in life and the field of mental health by sharing with me your life stories.

Being so committed to yourself and to me. I know there are a number of times where our discussions can weight so heavily on you or times where you battled with yourself for wanting to stop therapy because it is simply so painful to re-explore some of the repressed topics and emotions. Yet, despite all the challenges psychotherapy has brought up from time to time again, you always show up on time and put in your best effort to make the best out of each and every one of our sessions.

Giving me the opportunity to witness you transform yourself. Though you may not be able to observe the changes at times, I promise you that I see it and I celebrate your successes in my own little way J

Thank you for being you and for allowing me to walk with you in this journey of life. I have learned a tremendous amount from each and every one of you, and as always, I am very thankful for being your therapist.

Sincerely,

Hatty
